Members from 28 Farm Women Societies in Lancaster County gathered for a day of cele brating at the Farm and Home Cen ter on November 4. After a year of holding bake sales and fundraisers, members collectively raised $13,540 for charities. They used a portion of that money to submit $3,450 to the Farm and Home Center for upkeep. Joyce Slaymaker, president of the county society for the past two years, transferred the reins of lead ership to Kathryn Fry, formerly the vice president Allegra Leininger is first vice president Pauline Risser, secretary, and Martha Ger ber, treasurer. A memorial service was held in memory of nine members who died during the past year. Nancy Axe of Society 20, Marian Kurtz of Society 13, and E. Viola Wolf of Society 1 were in charge of the service. Entertainment for the day included special music by Lowell Fry, son of president Kathryn Fry, and a Musical Revue by Lois Feltham, Cheryl Miller, and Patsy Myers.
