The main business of the meet ing will be the election of leaders and the setting policies on state wide issues affecting agriculture. The presentation of awards, infor mation conferences and other activities will also highlight the three-day session. Several hundred farm leaders, including 169 voting delegates, will gather to set the future course of the organization. Voting dele gates will deliberate on about ISO proposed policy resolutions for the organization which were deve loped from grassroots input by members in county farm bureaus. Policy resolutions will focus on issues such as tax reform, highway funding and milk safety require ments. Voting delegates will also be electing the organization’s vice president and eight of the 16 dis trict representatives on PFB’s state board of directors. Farm Bureau To Meet CLASSIFIED ADSI PAY OFF! j meeting’s opening luncheon, Monday, Nov. 13. Ridge appeared at PFB’s 1993 annual meeting as a participant in a “Meet The Candi dates” debate for the office of Governor. PFB president Keith Eckel of Clarks Summit, Lacka wanna County will present the President’s Address to the organi zation at Tuesday’s luncheon, Nov. 14. Several annual awards will be presented during the convention. The “Distinguished Service To Agriculture Award” will be pre sented to a person or persons who have made a significant contribu tion to the betterment of Pennsyl vania agriculture. The top county in farm bureau program achieve ments will receive the “All Star Award.” In addition, the “Out standing Young Farmer Award” will be presented to one of three finalists in the competition which recognizes outstanding business accomplishments and leadership exhibited before age 30. Other activities during the annual meeting include a discus sion meet contest sponsored by PFB’s young farmers and ranchers committee.
