Layer Flocks
recently discovered in Pennsylva
nia flocks, could pose a challenge
to your broiler or layer flocks in the
coming months.

The isolates Ark
ansas and Delaware 072
were found present in
two separate flocks,
located miles apart in
Lancaster County,
according to Dr. Sherrill
Davison, VMD, Poultry
Diagnostic Lab at the
University of
Pennsylvania.
Davison recently
spoke to about 30 poul

industry representatives
at the Poultry Manage

12.2 percent. Mortality
for the other company
(located a distance
away) was 3.4 percent
to 7.9 percent, with an
average of 5.54 percent.
The cause of the
bronchitis is uncertain,
since flocks located
nearby haven’t been
affected.
Davison said that
