Junior Angus breeders paraded 102 entries forjudge Harvey Lem mon, Woodbury, Ga., here at the 1995 Virginia Junior Angus Breeders’ Show. Taking both grand and reserve grand champion honors in the owned heifer show was John Whetzel. Edinburg. His grand champion entry was Boondocks Black Lass 6302, a March 1994 daughter of Dixeylands Diplomat 1147 EPI. She was first the junior champion winner. Following in reserve yvas Whetzel’s March 1994 daughter of Glenara Thistle 140, W H Traveling Erica. She was also the reserve junior cham pion. In the bred-and-owned heifer show, Douglas Dalton, Altavista, captured the grand champion title with Daltons Bell Donna, a Febru ary 1994 daughter of P S High Pockets. She was also the bred and-owned junior champion heif er. Reserve grand champion bred and-owned heifer honors were awarded to Scott Updike, Wash ington. Skyway Hills Pride Forte was his January 1994 winner. The reserve junior champion is sired by Papa Forte 1921. Randolph Clary 111, Brodnax, won grand champion bred-and owned bull honors with South sides Bando, a November 1994 son of Bon View Bando 598. Re serve grand champion bred-and owned bull was Skyway Hill 6807 1126. Justin Updike, Washington, showed this September 1994 son of D H D Traveler 6807. The winning pair in the cow calf division was Daltons Monet and her February 1995 bull calf. They were shown by Wynn Dal ton, Altavista. The cow is a Febru ary 1993 daughter of R&J Expres so. The reserve grand champion cow-calf pair was exhibited by Ja son Michael, Mt. Solon. Dixey lands Blueblood 1128, a Septem ber 1991 daughter of Leachman Prompter, and her February 1995 bull calf were Michael’s winning entry. Thomas Carper, White Post, led B&J Indy 500 to the grand cham pion steer laurels. Carper’s April 1994 steer is sired by Sky walker. Robin McCall, Waterford, show ed the reserve grand champion steer. Broadview 3714, an April 1994 son of Oneills Prestige, was her champion entry.
