Brosius announced the appointment of two regional directors for the Pennsylvania Agriculture Department “I’m pleased these individuals have agreed to serve as advocates Lebanon Pond Meeting Set NORTH CORNWALL (Lan caster Co.) —The Lebanon Coun ty Farm State Extension Office is offering a pond meeting at Sto ver’s Dam on Wednesday, August 23, at 6:30 p.m. This meeting will help you learn to identify common aquatic weeds and provide strategies and techniques for controlling them. We will discuss physical and biological methods of weed con trol, including the use of triploid grass carp in Pennsylvania ponds. We will talk about selecting a suit able aquatic herbicide, pesticide safety, and the permit application form. Other topics will include pond arithmetic and application tech niques, how to determine area and volume of your pond, and how to calibrate your equipment. There will also be a short dis cussion about the care of the pond embankment, principal spillway, and emergency spillway. Please bring problem weeds from your pond for identification.
