The spring-bom Dorsets averaged .95 pounds per day through the 84-day testing period, with two lambs posting the top gain within this breed group of 1.11 pounds/ day. These two rams were cosigned by Ken Staver and Fami ly and Dan Heilman, respectively. The fall-bom Dorsets averaged .82 pounds per day. The November-born ram con signed by Genetic Visions Stock Farm set the standard with a gain of .98 pounds per day. The 17 spring-bom Suffolks gained very well, posting an average daily gain of 1.15 pounds per day. David and Tracy Cole’s February-born twin ram recorded the top average daily gain over all breeds, 1.40 pounds per day. The second fastest gain over all breeds was recorded by a Suffolk. Steam and Gas Engine Show on August 4-6 at the showgrounds located on Rt. 313 between Den ton and Federalsburg. The show features free admission and free parking. Besides the main attraction of wheat threshing, there will be shingle sawing, sawing with a miniature sawmill and rock crush ing.
