Judge Creedin Comman offi ciated over the placing of animals entered and commented on the competition. He said he always enjoys judging in Lebanon Coun ty, with its facilities and the sup portive dairy community, and especially because of the efforts arid behavior of the youth. “I’m not sure who started this competition, but it is a very good one.” He said he was honored to be part of an event that rewards the total efforts of youth in developing their ability to breed and raise high quality cattle and maintain highly organized and well-maintained records. Comman noted that the compet ition is perhaps one of the few that truly acknowledges and rewards the type of responsible dairy cattle raising behavior that leaders and educators attempt to impart on youth so that those youth can become successful and can later teach others. In other honors of the 4-H and open Brown Swiss show, colored breed judge Schnebly selected senior 3-year-old Heilinger Simon Necessity, owned by Bruce Heilin ger of Newmanstown, as reserve open division grand champion. Of the three senior 3-year-olds entered in the breed show, all cap tured grand or reserve grand honors. Heilinger also showed the open division reserve junior champion, an unnamed homebred spring calf, a daughter of Victory Acres Jubila tion Emory.
