Seeds is a perennial exhibitor and winner at the Kimberton Fair and other local Jersey shows in the southeastern region of the state. In all, there were seven Top-O-Hill prefix animals as class winners. The Kimberton Fair has a slight ly unusual dairy show format There are technically no reserve junior, senior or grand champions recognized, even though they are acknowledged by the judge. It’s a show idiosyncracy. If there were reserve places. Seeds would have showed the reserve junior champion, while Amy Plummer, of Chalfont, also a regular Jersey exhibitor, would have earned the title of reserve grand champion. The judge for the show was Jane Pepple, of Oxford, who praised the competitive depth of the show. “I think it was an outstanding show. There were a lot of good quality animals, a lot of stiff com petition. I got a workout," she said after the show. Pepple, who said she really enjoys the youth shows, in part because she was a 4-H member, has a couple of other shows to judge in the next week and is also slated to judge showmanship at 4-H district competitions in Harrisburg. There are other dairy cattle breed shows at Kimberton, though the Jersey show is fte largest. During the Ayrshire show, held earlier in the week, Brian Nolan, of Pottstown, showed the open divi sion senior and grand champion animal, an aged cow, Dreamnol Johnny’s Kassy. It was also the youth division senior and grand champion. The junior champion of both divisions was an intermediate calf showed by Craig Nolan, also of Pottstown. The calf was Dreamnol Teddy Bear Lindy. Judge for the Ayrshire show was Mike Kunkle, of Jonestown.
