The criteria for selection include cooperation with county person nel, dairymen, DHIA personnel, stastistical performance and neat ness and appearance. The award can only be won once, and the winning this award is a prerequisite for consideration for the Herb Gilmore Superior Tech nician Award. In other awards, Jane Kashner received a clock plaque with her Pa.DHIA Retirement Award rec ognizing 18 years service in (he Crawford County area. There were 51 technicians who qualified for the Award of Merit, an award recognizing length of service, workload, and score well on a technician worksheet perfor mance evaluation. Each recipient received $25, with $5 added for each consecutive year the award is received. Also recognized were the win ners of the Rookie of the Year awards. This award also makes a distinction between full-time and part-time employees. Each received an engraved plaque, Rodney Darr, of Somerset County, was the recipient of the full-time employee Rookie of the Year Award. Cindy Gamer of Huntingdon County and Mae Kahler of Schuy lkill County each received part time Rookie of the Year awards. In order to qualify for the award, new technicians must who excep tional aptitude in learning the job of a Pa.DHIA technician, have worked at least six months and not more than 18, and have demon strated outstanding cooperation with the state and local DHIA organizations in conducting an efficient and accurate testing program. The staff at Pa.DHIA would like to take the opportunity to congra tulate the award winners on a job well done.
