A46-Ltmcaster Fihnlng, Saturday, April 15, 1995 ADC: Excellent Six Months GAIL STROCK Mifflin Co. Correspondent McVEYTOWN (Mifflin Co.) Because of good customers, good credit, the increase in sales of raw milk, and an increase in sup pliers, Atlantic Dairy Cooperative (ADC) has had an excellent first six months. That was some of the good news given to almost 100 family mem bers of Atlantic Dairy Coopera tive’s Lewistown Local by Evan L. Fineman, treasurer and chief financial officer of ADC, during their annual dinner meeting. Held at the McVeytown Fire Hall, Fineman also said ADC’s sale of fluid Class 1 milk has decreased form 44 percent to 42 percent but butterfat sales remain strong. Fineman said ADC is look ing to expand by possibly building a cheese plant They also want to network their personal computers and to add an online system to enable farmers with computers quicker access to testing and milk quality results. ADC’s $26.5 million in equity includes the Holly Milk Plant, the Quality Control Lab, and the main offices. Fineman said half of the Quality Control Lab’s testing is environmental, and that part is costing the cooperative money. Fineman said ADC is thinking of getting out of the environmental testing buseiness. ADC Field Representative Mar tin Smith thanked dairy farm fami- David and Connla Mitchell of Dry Valley, Lewlstown. accepted their 25-Year Award from Atlantic Dairy Coopera tive. Mitchell Joined ADC when milk was $6.57 per hundredweight. Trouble Finding the Right Radio Service? Maybe You Haven’t Made t Right Call!
