QUESTION Melanie Marple, Frederick, would like to
know how to make silly putty. She heard that it has glue, 20
Mule Team Borax, and food coloring but doesn’t know what
amounts.
QUESTION—A Pennsylvania reader would like to buy the
books, “The ‘Mysterifying’ Twins,” and the “Secret of the Mys
tifying Twins." Books may be new or in good condition.
QUESTION A Lehighton reader would like to know the
market price for goose and duck eggs.
QUESTION Fay Leslie, 46 Witt Fid., Woodstown, N.J.,
would like to know if anyone is interested in exchanging old
fashioned seeds and cuttings from their gardens. She loves to
save seed for next year’s gardens.

know where to purchase flaked hominy. She writes that a
company called Pleezing used to sell it. She has inquired
about this product for years and hasn’t been able to find out if it
was removed from the market, and, if so, why?

she could purchase some Alice and Jerry readers that were
used in school many years ago. She especially v/ould like a
copy of “Singing Wheels” and others from that series.

for a wire jig that can be used for making patterns in any shape
and size by bending the wire.
QUESTION Marian Mosemann, Summit Hill, would like
paper puzzles that were sometimes given away by the John
Deere tractor franchises. The puzzles were made either out of
thin cardboard or thick paper. The puzzle pieces were pack
aged inside a letter-sized envelope with instructions to solve
the puzzle printed on the outside of the envelope.
QUESTION —Betty Staman, Danville, lost the dough hook
for her Bosch mixer. She has written to the company address
at Salt Lake City, Utah, but it has moved and the forwarding

wholesale source for goose feathers to use to make old

ANSWER For the reader who wanted to know of uses
for white vinegar, here are some more answers. Doris Horton,
Randolph,N.Y.,writes for furniture polish, mix together V 4 cup
white vinegar and 'A teaspoon olive oil. Use with soft cloth and
tightly wring out.
A reader writes that it may be used as drain opener. Pour
some baking soda down the clogged drain and add some
white vinegar. The mixture will sizzle and will usually open the
drain.
Naomi Houston, Perkasie, writes that there is a book that
lists more than 200 remedies for vinegar. Topics include, stay
young, vinegar fights disease, vinegar making, and more.
