Ida’s Notebook Ida Risser When I get together with a group of ladies, it seems that the conversation often turns to food. Then they discuss all the new res taurants and where they have eat en recently. Some eat out every day while others only once a week. Allen and I seldom eat away from home. That is until the last week when we ate five meals out of 21 meals away from our own table. Actually, I like to cook and an occasional meal away is a treat We attended a banquet in Lan caster and I won the centeipiece by answering a trivia question about Lancaster County. Then we also went to a large gathering of folks who had traveled together during the past year. Here again I was lucky as I won a door prize. On Sunday night we had a 'dif ferent experience as we dined in an old hr East' Street L,, „ in Lancaster. The deep window sills and the hardware on the doors showed its true age. Here we had a typical British meal as the host and hostess had just returned from a stay in England. Our wedding anniversary brought an invitation to have lunch with our son and his family on the farm. It is always nice to see the grandchildren as they grow up so quickly. One evening our church had their annual meeting that was preceded by a potluck meal. I took a dish of baked com as I’ve had many compliments on it. I do believe that the one reason that mine is better than others is because I can use my own frozen tender com. It simply does not get as good with canned kernels. Now 1 hope we can stay home for a while so that I can try some of the recipes that I’ve been saving recent IT Ir ? .
