Lancaster Sets Two Dairy Days LANCASTER (Lancaster Co.) You are invited to attend the two Lancaster County dairy days Tuesday, Feb. 28 and Tues day, March 7, at the Farm and Home Center. Starting time both days is 9 a.m. Lunch tickets may be purchased until 11 a.m. The first day the theme is to improve herd profits through cow comfort, good udder health, and with well-designed, properly oper ated milking systems. The second day offers informa tion to prepare to meet the 21st century with emphasis on business management of the farm and pro fitable management of the herd. Glenn Shirk, dairy extension agent, said the program is different both days. It features a blend of successful (seducers who are pre paring to meet the 21st century, plus veterinarians, ag leaders, and university personnel. In addition to “managing dairy herds for profit," the program also addresses the business side of dairying and how producers can work to maintain a competitive edge in the years ahead. The morn ing program on March 7 provides an opportunity for those who attend the first presentation to earn. some pesticide training credits.
