Pricer for whole egg and blends were
unchanged, whites were lower, and yolks
were generidly higher. The trade sentiment
was barely steady to weak on whites,
steady to firm on yolks, and generally
steady on the balance. Demand improved
somewhat as shell egg markets firmed, but
inquiry for whites remained sluggish.
Floor stocks of whites were at least adequ
ate, yolks were generally no mote than
adequate, and the balance of items were
adequate or available. Liquid and frozen
eggs processed under federal inspection in
the Eastern region for the week ending
January 7,1995 were 2% above last week,
and 8% below the same week a year ago.

Live supplies were moderate; weights var
ied in a full range, but were mostly desire
able. Processing schedules remained very
heavy. Leas than trucklot asking prices
were unchanged at 47 to 58 cents Trade
sentiment was generally steady. In the
parts complex, bone-in breasts were
adequate to closely cleared. Boneless skin
less breasts were competitively priced at
some plants and remained slow to clear.
Inquiry for leg quarters increased and sev
eral plants were closely cleared. Wings
were available.

GLANCE:
Prices were unchanged to higher in the
Midwest and Mid-Atlantic areas,
unchanged elsewhere. The market tone
was steady to firm. Demand coveted the
full range and wu mostly moderate. Retail
promotions continued to boost cartoned
egg movement. Supplies were mostly
adequate, and excess eggs were held or
offered with confidence. Prices were high
er for breaking stock, and supplies
remained adequate for the mixed demand.
Live hen offerings were at least adequate
for the limited demand, and the undertone
wu about steady.
