They will fill the board vacancies created by the
expiration of terms of retiring directors Doug

Mark Bupp, Brogue.
National director John Howard, Willow
Street, updated York County members on activ
ities of the Holstein Association. Howard report
ed a break-even financial year on operations for
the National Holstein Association, due to an
expected total of some 330,000 animals regis
tered through 1994. A balance of $4 million
remains on the Association’s building payments,
expected to be paid off in four installments over
the next 15 months. All members are encour

scheduled for February 16 at the Sheraton Inn
East, Harrisburg.
Frank Feeser, Hanover, state director from
York County, noted that the charge for advertis
ing in the Pennsylvania Holstein Association’s
“Profiles” publication will be increasing. Three
$ 1,000 scholarships will be awarded by the state
Holstein Association to deserving college stu
dents. Feeser announced the dates of March 24
as the annual Spring Holstein Championship
Show and September 26 as the Fall Champi
onship Show, being held in conjunction with the
All-American show at Harrisburg. Top-quality
consignments are are being sought for the sale to
be held in conjunction with the National Hol
stein Convention being hosted by Pennsylvania
in Pittsburgh, in late June.
Consignments are also wanted for the annual
Eastern Shore Showcase Sale to be held in Quar
ryville, Lancaster County, on March 25. An
eight percent commission on sales of the con
signments is shared by halves with the counties
from which the animals originate, making this
sale a source of income for county Holstein trea
suries. Advertising is available for consignments
in a catalog to be published for the Showcase
event. For more information, contact Dan
Hushon, Delta, phone 717-3156-5771.
