197 FFA’ers To Receive Keystone Degree At Farm Show HARRISBURG (Dauphin Co.) The Blue and Gold invasion is about to hit the Farm Show! The Pennsylvania FFA Association is holding its 66th annual Mid-Winter Con vention on Monday, Jan. 9 in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Farm Show. Cere monies are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. in the Large Arena of the Farm Show Complex. One hundred and ninety-seven Pennsyl vania FFA members will be waiting anxi ously to receive their Keystone degrees. The Keystone is the highest FFA degree the state can bestow upon its members. The selection of the state stars and recogni tion of chapters for their outstanding prog rams in safety and community service are among the convention highlights. The convention is open to the public. The Pennslyvania FFA consists of 7,300 members who are studying agricultural education. The FFA mission statement states that the FFA makes a positive differ ence in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, per sonal growth, and career success through agricultural education. Shane, 18, son of Daniel and Jeanette Albert, York, has received the Greenhand and Chapter Farmer degrees. Donald, 17, son of Richard and Vicky Wiggins, Quarryville, Lan caster County, ser- ves his chapter as sentinel. Donald has worked on various on-farm work experi ence projects, including swine finishing. He has also participated in various com mittees, including conduct of meetings and water testing, cooperation, fruit sales, and float, Donald has been awarded the Green hand, Chapter, and Red Rose degrees, and has been honored with various awards, including first in state land judging and proficiency in land judging. Tonya Anthony Tonya Anthony, four-year Marion Center FFA mem ber, intends to en roll in college after she is graduated from Marion Center High School.
