Christmas is here at last and I can’t wait to rip open my presents. I’ll bet most of you kids feel that way, too, after all the waiting. Now you caii finally forget those parts that you learned and recited at school and church pro grams. Your teachers and parents made you memorize for weeks, didn’t they? THE SIGN n. City of David Guess Who Is New On The | Farm Coloring Contest? Kids and shepherds tending their sheep. Lots of you were a Mary, or a Joseph, around the manger of Baby Jesus. Dressing as those characters was a big deal, right? Moms and grandmas dug out dark turkish towels from the linen closet to wrap around your head. The striped bathrobes that turned you into a fine shepherd, probably belonged to your dad, your grand pa, or perhaps, the director’s hus band. And safety pins were handy for holding you together on the stage, n % Almost everyone who reads this I I j / / 1 paper knows that cows, chickens, \ \ / / / V sheep, and steers are raised on the 11// //g\J i>\ farm. But not too many people >j - (Kr y know much about the hundreds of v y' | emu that are becoming popular on I /) the farm. If] To teach people mere about ' emu. the Eastern Regional Emu 111 ■ / Chapter is sponsoring a coloring \ contest for children ages 1-12. * r // s' Color the picture of the emu chick that is hatching from the egg. After coloring the picture, take it to the Pennsylvania Farm Show / Korner* mior Youth Fellowship from the Springs Mennonite Church has a table full of fruit boxes to deliver to twelve area homes. The kids learn that giving to others brings happiness to our hearts, especially at Christmas. so the audience didn’t know you were ready to fall apart (this often happens with grownups’ clothes). Deposit your colored picture in the box. Make sure your name, age, address, and phone number are written on the picture. In case you forget, a coloring area with supplies provided will be available at the booth. All entries will be displayed at the booth before the drawing. Also, each one who brings an entry to the booth will receive a free coloring book about the emu.
