writing that their 14-year-old Lhasa Apso had fear of thunder,
lightning, and hot-air balloons all her life until August 1992.
That is when they found a veterinarian who treats animals
with homeopathic remedies that can be purchased at health
food stores or through mail. His name is C. Edgar Sheaffer,
Mechanicsburg, who recommended aconitum napellus (30c
strength), also know as aconite, which is used for fright
among other things. The Sokolas write that the dog was cured
of fright almost overnight. Sheaffer treats many dog ailments

reader go to a gun shop that sells reloading equipment. Pow
der scales are available from several companies such as
RCBS, Dillon, Lee, Lyman, and Hornaday. All are accurate to
one-tenth of a grain, and most can measure from 0-100
grains. Many different models are available, from simple
balance scales costing about $2O to electronic digital scales
that start about $l5O.
