LENHARTSVILLE (Berks
Co.) —Ever since Pam Seidel was
five years old, her grandfather has
been taking her to Grange meet
ings twice a month.
At first, she was too shy to join
in the activities with the other
children, so she satin the meetings
with the adults. Other children
might have been bored, but not
Pam. She was enthralled with the
pledges and formalities of the
Grange meetings.
Soon she began participating in
the many activities provided by the
Grange for children, youth, and
families at local, county, and state
levels.
. Recently, Pam and Floyd Buf
fington attained the coveted posi
tions of Pa. State Grange Youth
Ambassadors.
The two were chosen from other
Grange youth candidates from
across the state during a recent
youth camp at Camp Carson Long
Institute in New Bloomfield.
During the year, Pam and Floyd
will promote the Grange at Grange

Floyd, who belongs to Com

“The opportunities are tre

who wants to visit schools and
educate youth on the importance of
Grange.
He said the Grange develops
leadership and promotes commun

“It’s a training ground for com

most important part is that Grange
activities are fun. You meet people
around the states.”
Floyd is 20 years old and a
junior at Delaware Valley College.
During the summer, he works on
his parents’ (Donald and Betty)
farm. They raise 2,500 head mark
