NATIONAL EGG - AT A GLANCE:
Prices were unchanged. The market tone
was cautiously steady to steady. Demand
was light to instances good, mostly fair,
and best where featured and where pre
holiday stocking began. Supplies remained
at least adequate or available except jum
bos and extra-large were light to barely
adequate Breaking stock supplies were
adequate for the unaggressive demand, and
the trade sentiment was steady. Live hen
supplies were at least adequate for the light
to moderate demand, and the undertone
was also generally steady.
Trucklot buying interest was somewhat
irregular today but improved overall. Sup
plies of boneless skinless breasts were in
good balance with current demand; howev
er, sellers maintained inventories with
added confidence. Whole breasts, both
Grade A and line run product, were shop of
trade needs. Very little additional product
was offered. Trading was reported at high
er prices and ‘the undertone was fully
steady to firm. Dark meat items were well
cleared at steady prices. Wings were
adequate but buying interest slower from
early week and the trade sentiment was
quite cautious gooing into next week.
