In a large bowl, with an electric mixer at low speed, combine the Hour, pudding mix, salt, shorten ing, butler, and egg. Blend just until the dry ingredients arc moistened. Press this mixture into the bot tom and up the sides of a 9-mch pic pan. Bake for 15 10 18 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool the crust thoroughly on a wire rack before filling.
