Approximately 265
high school students
will compete in the
areas of aquatics, fores
try, soils, wildlife, and
current environmental
issues. The environ
mental issue for this
year’s competition is
acid rain.
County conservation
districts from S 3 of
Pennsylvania’a 67
counties are expected to
sponsor teams in this
year’s event. The coun
ty representatives quali
fied for the statewide
competition by winning
local envirothons, in
volving more than
5,200 youth.
