The Berks County 4-H Dairy Club recently held its annual awards banquet at the Berks County 4-H Community Center, in Leesport. ✓ Awards were presented by Gary Kurtz, president of the 4-H dairy council, with the help of Jennifer Grimes, state and county dairy princess, and Justine Stoltzfus, the coun ty little-miss dairy princess. Awards were presented for dairy project books to Gre gory Davis, of the Northern Berks Club, in the class for 8- to 9-year-olds; Jessica Luckenbill, of Western Berks Club, among the 10- to 11-year-old members; Erica Davis, of Northern Berks Club, among the 12- to 13-year-olds; Lynne Koinski, of Northern Berks Club, for 14- to 15-year-tllds; Mark Sattizahn, of Western Berks Club, among the 16- to 17-year-olds; and Jennifer Hix, of North ern Berks Club, among the 18-year-old members. Bluforms awards were presented to Andrew Youse, of Eastern Berks Club, among the 8- to 12-year-old mem bers; and Janice Youse, also Eastern Berks Club, among the 12- to 14-year-olds. Awards for the dairy club officer’s books went to Leslie Nirschl, of Northern Berks Club, for the best secretary’s book; Erica Davis, for the best club treasurer’s book; and Trisha Geist, of Northern Berks Club, for the best club scrapbook. FFA HAPPENINGS Cedar Crest FFA Holds Parent-Member Banquet, On Wednesday, April 6, Cedar Crest FpA held its 29th annual Parent-Member Banquet at the Cedar Crest Middle School, with more than 200 in attendance. Scott Nolt, chapter president, opened the banquet at 7 p.m. The Address of Welcome was pre sented by Andy Martin. Matt Sensenig, chapter chap lain, gave the invocation. After a hearty meal, Dan Atkins, chapter vice president, introduced the many guests. Chris Kepley and Jeff Zimmer man gave out the Certificates of Appreciation. Certificates were given to Mr. and Mrs. James Sensenig, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Krall, and Ms. Jill Risser. Guest speaker was State Repor ter Amanda Peak. Honorary Chapter Degree plaques were presented to Harold Berkheiser and Alan Nolt. Harvey Smith, retired area con sultant, presented the chapter’s Keystone Degree winners, Scott Nolt, Matt Sensenig, Dan Atkins, and Chris Kepley with Keystone pins.
