The couple’s second child is due January 5. “He has to be hoe for that,” she added. He’ll be fitted with a permanent leg when the swelling in the stump has completely subsided. Wingert said he will select the features he wants from a high-tech assortment such as a hydraulic knee and a foot with sensors. After therapy, he ex pects to be able to do everything he had done before except possi bly “running as fast as before,” he said. But he’s running already, even without a prosthesis. “I have to shut the door and not watch,” Carol said after seeing her husband, one crutch in the air, go ing after an escaped cow recently. “I gained on her, didn’t I?” Wingert replied. Neighbors completed Win gert’s autumn work while he was in the hospital. “The combine was is to help his father look after the steers. MARYLAND fixed and running by Thursday (after the accident),” he said. “All the com was shelled. There were so many volunteers. We’re sure thankful for that” His family is just thankful he is still with them. “I could easily not be. I was tir ed of hollering. I was about ready to give up. but I knew if I let go I’d be done.” Wingert said. ’This has brought our family closer together,” he continued. “We live in such a fast-paced so ciety.
