Newport resident David Shenk has been named manager of the 17-county Pennsylvania Dairy Herd Improvement Association Southeast Region. In his new role, Shenk is to be responsible for all aspects of the DHIA program and is to perform a myriad of duties. Shenk is taking over the position left vacant with the retirement on Monday, Nov. 1, of Harry Fritz. A 12-year employee of Perry County DHIA, he has been a Pa.DHIA senior technician for four years and has received recog nition for outstanding peformance on several occasions. His hobbies include model rail roading and woridng on a 1929 Model A and 1932 Ford truck.
