Tree Fanners Arthur and Mary Wolfe will host visitors at their Tree Farm in Adams County on September 11. Tours of the property, educa tional seminars (topics to include tree planting, timber marketing, stream improvement, and woodlot management), exhibitors, and lunch will be part of the all-day program. The Wolfes purchased their 118-acre farm after Arthur retired from teaching in 1983. They implemented a conservation plan that was instrumental in trans forming the hum that had been idle for more than a decade into an award-winning showcase. The Wolfes put fields back into pro duction after installing drain tile, constructing sod waterways, and diversion ditches. The 43-acre woodlot was also put under management and 10 additional acres were planted in pine, walnut, and Christmas trees. In 1984, the Wolfes joined the Glatfelter Tree Farm Family and their property became a certified Tree Farm.
