Michael Brubaker, who is the president of Brubaker .• Agronomic Consulting Service, Inc., (BAGS), has been selected by the Ephrata Area Young Fanners Association to serve as the advisor for the coming year. Brubaker started BAGS in 1978 in order to help farmers make sound economic and en vironmental decisions that would improve yields and promote en vironmental steward ship. He is a certified agronomist, custom ap plicator, and soil scien tist Brubaker uses his expertise as an agrono mist to benefit the vari ous committees and boards he has been in vited to join most re cently, the Advisory Committee of the Col lege of Agriculture of the Pennsylvania State University. He is a strong advocate, both on a local and state lev el, of agriculture and the vital role it plays in our nation. Brubaker has been honored by several or ganizations in the past. He has been nominated as the Small Business Person of the Year, re ceived recognition as Communicator of the Year, and was recogniz ed as an Outstanding Young Community Leader. Brubaker Agronomic Consulting Service, Inc. is the sixth largest agri cultural/env ironmental consulting Arm in the United States. Their staff of agronomists are employed throughout the Mid-Atlantic re gion. BAGS staff, col lectively, has many de cades of field experi ence.
