Before destroy ing weather-damaged crops, farmers should notify the Agricultural Stabilization and Con servation Service (ASCS) to obtain 1993 acreage credit and documentation for fu ture crop acreage bases. “When we inspect the area for this pur pose, evidence of the failed acreage must be present,” said county ASCS official Richard Troutman. Recently, some areas of the county experienc ed high winds and hail, which caused some crop damage. Barley was flattened and com was shredded in Some areas. Farmers are currently filing acreage reports with ASCS to qualify for benefits on their 1993 program crops. The program partici pants must report crops, cropland acres to be de voted to the acreage conservation reserve, and other land uses. 1021 789 3.7 2.8 3.3 1001 3.5 3.2 3.3 3.3 3.7 999 923 3.3 3.6 3.9 3.7 3.6 1119 1013 971 4.0 4.0 1095 936 959 3.7 1073 1232 4.2 1039 1091 976 3.9 4.0 4.1 3.6 958 922 3.1 918 927 3.6 3.7 3.3 3.8 867 928 2.8 812 826 3.1
