In order to strengthen their awareness of the U.S. posi tion on current agricultural issues, students will attend briefings at the U.S. Department of Agricul ture and the U.S. Information Agency and meet with their con gressional representatives. They will also receive specialized train ing in cross-cultural communica tion and adaptation. Following a two-month lan guage course in Radolfzell, Ger many, each student will live with a German host family, assist with farm management and attend an agricultural secondary school. The Congrcss-Bundcslag prog ram is an official youth exchange sponsored by the governments of the United States and Germany and is designed to strengthen tics between young people in each country. The program is funded through a grant from the United Stales Information Agency. The National FFA Organization (FFA) cooperates with the Carl Duisbcrg Gescllschaft (CDG) in Germany to organize the agricul tural component of the Congress Bundestag exchange. It is one ol many programs FFA offers to pro vide premier leadership, personal growth and career development opportunities to young people in agricultural education. In 1993-1994, FFA and CDG will send 14 American students to Ger many and bring 14 German stu dents to the United States. This is the tenth year of the Congrcss- Bundestag Youth Exchange program.
