A monetary donation was given to the Starview United Methodist Church in memory of Nancy Ems wiler, a longtime member of the group. Mary Rohler agreed to the position of vice president and Vel ma Kohr will serve as Bus Coor dinator, positions held by Nancy Emswiler for 1993. The next meeting will be at the home of Mary Rohler. Roll call was an exchange of Valentine cards and verses. President Irene Rentzel read the minutes from the State Conven tion and gave a report on the board meeting. Mary Rohler was installed as vice president. Each person brought a gift and a Sunshine Box was given to Anna Aldinger, who is recuperating from a fall. Group 9, Society of Farm Women, met in the home of Pat Haas, Douglassville. Six members attended. The meeting opened with an inspirational reading and a poem. It was noted that our April program may not be able to come. The Ways & Means committee collected the money from the January calendars. Everybody’s Birthday party will be held at Chi Chi's. Meet in the church parking lot at 6:30. Each member needs to bring a $6 gift for their secret pal. The Sunshine Fund has SIS. The Spring Rally will be held in Hagerstown, Md., May 26. Coun ty is asking for canned or boxed food for the homeless, Kim Cas ner will give it to Janet Schlegal. For this year’s heifer project, each group is asked to donate $3 per member. County will raffle a quilt made, each group is also asked to donate something for the raffle. Karen Schrierer volunteered to make a white-on-white quilted pillow. The June 2 program will be at St Joseph’s Hospital, to discuss living wills. Guests are welcomed. Eleven members answered to the roll call question, “What is your favorite restaurant?’’ A donation was made to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boyer town in memory of member Helen Borcher. A donation was made to the American Heart Association. A thank-you note was received from John Crossan, principal of Farm Women Group #ll met in the home of Dorinda Lingle for their February meeting. Doris Brown, president, conducted the meeting. Rae Anna Grumbine was a guest speaker for their nutrition meeting. She spoke about school lunches.
