REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio The American Jeney Cattle Club and National All-Jer*cy Inc. Executive Secretary Maurice E. Core announced his retirement plans during the Feb. 20-22,1993 Board of Directors meetings in Columbus, Ohio. He is to be succeeded by Calvin Covington, Assistant Secretary and Treasurer of AJCC-NAJ and General Manager of National All- Jersey, Inc. Core is to step down Dec. 1.1993, after 37 years of ser vice to the Jersey breed. Core has been executive secret ary since July 1,1985 and a mem ber of the AJCC-NAJ staff for 37 years. He started as Midwest area representative in 1956. Core became a special representative at the Columbus office in 1959, administrative assistant in 1961 and executive assistant in 1964. Core was editor of the Jersey Journal from 1969 to 1979. He was appointed AJCC assistant secretary in'l97B and treasurer of both AJCC tndNAJ in 1980. Core has supervised the All American Show and Sale since 1959 and was instrumental in getting Jersey Marketing Service started. Core has been an active suppor ter of Dairy Shrine, currently ser vice as president. He has served on a number of boards and advis ory committees including the Purebred Dairy Cattle Associa tion, U.S. Dairy Genetics Council and several more.
