She plans to attend Penn State Univer sity and major in biology or physi cal therapy. Amy was one of three nominated for a D.A.R. award and to Who’s Who Among American High School Students. She is involved in volley- ball, softball, chorus, ladies show choir, Spanish Club, and Student Council. She was chosen Farm Credit Outstand ing 4-H Girl for 1991. She is active in her church youth group, choir, and many other church organiza tions. She enjoys sports, reading, singing, and sewing. Amy recently took the Dale Carnegie Course and received two Outstanding Speak ing Awards. Runner-up in the queen contest was Jennifer Patterson, represent ing the Butler Fair. She is the 17-year-old daughter of William and Phyllis Patterson of Slippery Rock. Jennifer attends Slippery Rock Area High School where she ranked first in her class. She plans to attend Grove City College to major in English. Her goal is to complete a master’s degree and teach at the secondary level. She attended the 1992 PA Governor's School for the Agricultural Sci ences and is the recipient of the Rotary Youth Leadership Award. She also was named to Who’s Who Among American High School Students. At the 1992 4-H Round up, she won Grand Champion Market Steer, Champion Angus Female, and Supreme Champion Female honors. She has been on the 4-H Livestock Judging team at many events. Her hobbies include reading, playing the flute, and studying voice.
