According to all dealers, collectors, and writers questioned, the Kas became the highest priced piece of furniture ever to sell at auction in Pennsylvania. It was owned by Charles Nase of Perkasie, Bucks County and purchased by a private collector, represented at the auc tion by Terry Dwyer of Whispering Pines Anti ques. At least three other bidders were pre sent, also ready to pay over $lOO,OOO. Alderfer’s has sold furnishings and farm equipment for Mr. Nase over the past 20 years. Now at age 80, Mr. Nase is moving into a retirement home.
