MORGANTOWN (Berks Co.) Conestoga Christian School has scheduled its 19th annual Country Auction and chicken bar beque for Friday, Oct. 16, and Saturday, Oct. 17, at the school, on Rte. 23, one mile west of Morgantown. Activities will begin Friday, Oct 16, with a chicken barbeque from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Chicken halves or full chicken dinners including chicken half, apple sauce, roll and butter, fruit cup, chips, whoopie pie, and drink may be taken out or eaten in the gymnasium. Tickets for the dinner may be secured by calling the school office at (215) 286-0353. Friday’s events will also include a craft sale and a display of the quilts that will be sold the following day. The auction itself will begin in the school gymnasium at 9:30 a.m. and continue well into the afternoon. Highlights will include the sale of the folloowing items at the fol lowing items: 11 a.m., unique gift baskets made by each class of the kinder garten through 12th grade school; Noon, a grandfather’s clock and hand-crafted chest, both custom-made by local residents, and a 1987 maroon Plymouth Horizon with only 57,000 miles on it and featuring an automatic transmission and an AM-FM radio/cassette player. 1 p.m., hand-made quilts and wall-hangings contributed by members of several area churches.
