100 Market And Breeding Sheep Compete At Denver Fair
LOU ANN GOOD
Lancaster Fanning Staff
DENVER (Lancaster Co.) A
128-pound Suffolk leaped to the
top of the market lamb competition
at the Denver Fair on Thursday
night.
“Thomas is like a deer. He is
always jumping the fence at
home,” said IS-year-old Kendall
Reiff, who showed the feisty lamb.
“1 guess all that jumping deve
loped the right muscling.”
Several months ago, Thomas
was extremely ill with a vims and
lost a lot of weight “He was so
skinny for a couple of months that I
never thought he’d win. But I>
nursed him back to health and he
really took off.” Kendall said.
■ Kendall son of Sam and Elva
Reiff of Ephrata, purchased his
heavyweight market lamb from his
uncle Leroy Reiff who is the father
qf Lyndon and Lisa Reiff of Stras
burg. His cousins win many of the
sheep shows throughout the coun
ty but did not compete in the Den
ver show because they were show
ing at Solanco Fair.
Top showmanship honors went
to Jeff Bollinger of Ephrata. Bol
linger and his twin, Jerry, and
another brother Keith have about

a good temper.”
