Penn State College of Agricultural Sci ences faculty and staff will describe machinery operations and principles before each type of equipment is demonstrated. College faculty and staff also 1992 Schedule Of Events this special event to be held Tuesday through Thursday, August 18-20, at Rockspring, located south of State College along Route 45. will conduct demonstrations to help visitors evaluate the perfor mance of the different types of equipment. A portable rainfall simulator will be used to reveal the effects of different conserva tion practices on soil erosion and runoff. Round hay bales made by several different machines will be weighed to determine bale density. Demonstrations are scheduled as follows: 10:30 a.m. Conserva tion planting, 11:00 a.m. Primary and secondary .tillage, 1:00 p.m. Mowing, 2:00 p.m. Dry hay bal ing, 2:30 p.m. Bale handling and wrapping. The location of each demon stration will be published in the free Ag Progress Days program that visitors can pick up at the 11:30 11:40 12:00 12:20 12:30 12:40 1:00 exhibition. All demonstrations will be held at the same time each day, subject to weather and field conditions. Penn State’s Ag Progress Days features over 500 acres of educa tional and commercial exhibits, tours and machinery demonstra tions. It is held at the Russell E.
