The market tone was steady to firm, strongest on the large sizes. Demand was light to good, best where features were in progress or planned. Retail demand was slow and disappoint ing, food service demand was fairly good. Line tun breast supplies were tight but most buyer needs were covered at steady prices. Legs, thighs, and drumsticks cleared to a fairly good demand. Leg quar ters were short of an active demand and prices trended higher. Wings were available at current prices but buying interest improved. Less than trucklot asking prices were unchanged at SO to 63 cents. Live supplies were moderate. Weights varied from light to heavy, but were mostly light to desirable. Slaughter schedules were heavy. Trade sentiment was steady. In the parts complex, leg quar ters were in short supply at most plants. Bone-in breasts were no more than adequ ate overall. Boneless skinless breasts were readily available and slow to clear at sever al points. Wings were fully adequate; demand mixed.
