The meeting was recently held at The Ohio State University, Columbus. A list of award recipients and descriptions of the awards follow. Citations and photographs are available upon request Dr. Robert L. Sellars - ADSA Award of Honor. This award is given in recognition of unusually outstanding contributions to the welfare of the association or dis tinguished service to the associa tion. The award is primarily for services for services to ADSA. Sellars is Senior Vice President of Technology, Chr. Hansen’s Laboratory, Inc., Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Lewellyn S. Mix - Distin guished Service Award. This award is given in recognition of unusually outstanding and distin guished contributions to the wel fare of the dairy industry, either directly or indirectly. The award is based upon a broad, even non scientific, contribution. Thus, out standing achievements by those in industry, public administration, or academic administration qualify. Mix is retired from a distinguished career with Beacon Milling Com pany and Agway Inc. Dr. John P. McNamara - Agway Inc. Young Scientist Award. The Agway Inc. This award is presented to recognize significant contributions in research, teaching, extension, and/ or industry (including technology transfer) in the assimilation of new milk production technolo gies. The award consists of a plaque and monetary stipend. Beitz is a professor at lowa State University. Dr. Donald L. Palmquist - American Feed Industry Associ ation Award. A monetary award and a plaque are presented to rec ognize research in dairy cattle nutrition. Palmquist is Professor at The Ohio State University at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center at Wooster, Ohio. Dr. William W. Thatcher - Borden Award. The Borden Award, sponsored by the Borden Foundation, Inc., consists of a monetary award and a plaque. It is given to recognize outstanding research in dairy production or manufacturing contributing to improvement or care of dairy cattle, and to the development and improvement of processes, pro ducts, equipment, methods, hand ling, and sanitation. Thatcher is Graduate Research Professor at University of Florida, Gainesville. Dr. James V. Chambers - Delaval Dairy Extension Award. Alfa-Laval Agri, Inc. sponsors this ’plaque and accompanying monetary award. The award is presented to recognize outstand ing achievements in dairy exten sion.
