El2-Uncaster Firming, Saturday, June 6,1992 Survey To Measure Acres, Livestock HARRISBURG (Dauphin Co.) — Nearly 2,400 Pennsylvania farmers will be part of a national sample of 125,000 producers who will be contacted for the U.S. Agriculture Department's annual June survey. This major survey will be con ducted during the first half of June by USDA’i National Agricultural Statistics Service. The informa tion gathered will be used to make state, regional, and national esti mates of crop acreage, grain stocks, livestock inventories, number of farms and land in farms, and other statistics. Farmers selected for the survey will soon be notified by letter. “This survey is important in making accurate crop and lives tock estimates, which provide a basis for an orderly marketing sys tem,” said Wally Evans, who heads the Pennsylvania Agricul tural Statistics Service. “An order ly marketing system is essential to The heavy-duty Blue Max stands up to highpowerecfblowers. If you push your high-capacity silo filling equipment to the limit, or use a custom filler who does, you’re going to need the heavy-duty strength of Level-Flo’s Blue Max” Multi-Flo” silage spreader. It has heavier metal at wear points and is reinforced all around to give you years of dependable service. Other users include state gov ernments, universities, extension agents, farm management consul tants, agricultural lenders, and businesses that supply inputs to farmers. The June Agricultural Survey is one of the most important of the many surveys conducted each year by the Pennsylvania Agricul tural Statistics Service. Other Agricultural Surveys are sche duled for September, December, and March. Objective yield surveys for potatoes are conducted near the end of each month throughout the growing season. Separate cattle and sheep inven tory surveys are conducted in July and January. And because it’s a Multi-Flo™, the Blue Max™ will pack your silo tight, right to the top. Carefully engineered Multi-Flo™ silage spreaders have few moving parts.
