Thirty-one registered calves were sold to the highest bidders by Auctioneer Mike Weimcr, Emlcnton, with as sistance with 4-H’ers. Crystal Miller, Jason Hayes and Kathy Duncan. The 31 animals averaged $533.87. Kari Lynn Mowry, RRI, Sandy Lake, purchased the top selling animal of die sale for $1,050 a Holstein senior calf, Black-Pine Sally Sibyl, bom September 4, 1991. The calf was consigned by Richard Black of Black Pine Farm, RR 2, Saegertown. This calf was sired by Woodbine Valiant Eldon-ET. The high telling Ayrshire was consigned by Janyelle Hunter of Janaron Farms, Sacgertown, and was purchased for $B5O by Kim berly Voorhies, Stoneboro. One calf was purchased by Charles B. Mowry of Sandy Lake, and was consigned by Crystal Miller of Cambridge Springs. Ibis calf was consigned by Can dace Hitchcock of Russell, and the calf is sited by Glcnville Herald. Twenty-two of the thirty-one sale animals woe purchased by 4-H or FFA youth for project ani mals. One of the goals of this sale is to make good calves available to youth for their 4-H project; this was certainly accomplished this year. The majority of this year’s calves were purchased by North western Pennsylvania buyer* from Erie, Warren, Venango, Mercer and Crawford counties.
