We had numerous people knock on the door. They brought bread several times a week and we had peddlars display their wares. A man from York County came reg ularly to buy our rags and another fellow ask to sharpen our knives and scissors. My mother told of the weekly visit of the ice man and the fish man. The Capital Area Beekeepers Association will hold its fourth annual short course on Saturday, May 2, at the Dauphin County Agriculture Extension Buildong on Route 22S north of Dauphin. The purpose of the course is to assist new beekeepers in getting started in an enjoyable hobby, ana to offer additional information to present beekeepers. The course will be taught by beekeepers, and the staff from Penn State. Topics will include: Hive Management, Equipment, Bee Diseases and Pest, Harvesting, and Marketing.
