If I didn’t enjoy it, I wouldn’t be in it so long.” Darlee’s affiliation with Farm Women began in 1958, when a neighbor asked her to join the Soc iety. At first, Darlee was hesitant. She was pregnant with her second child and thought she was too busy for monthly meetings. Encouraged to attend a meeting, Darlee did. Right from the beginning, she was impressed with the camaraderie of the members and the learning experiences that are available in the programs. “There is always something new to learn at the conventions,” Dar- Ice said. Every year, members have also held square dances in a local school, but the school was sold recently and now the members can no longer afford to pay the increased rental fees. Darlee has held every office in the society.
