MONTROSE (Susquehanna Co.) — Susquehanna County Holstein Association is planning a bus tour on Saturday, March 28 to Canada. Tour participants will visit four excellent Canadian herds, including: • Glen McDonald, Breeze Hill Farm. This is a top show herd in Eastern Ohio. All four farms arc currently using manure storage systems. The charter bus will pick up at two locations in Susquehanna County. One of the objectives of the Lancaster County Farm and Home Foundation is to encourage the higher education of the youth of Lancaster County. In this respect, the Foundation is announcing the offering of scholarship awards in 1992 in the fields of agriculture and home economics. - Each scholarship award will be in the amount of $l,OOO and may be used to help defray tuition, fees, or room and board expenses at any accre dited educational insti tution, which offers a course of study in agri culture or home economics. The Farm and Home Foundation Scholar ships are made avail able through the earn ings of an Irrevocable Trust Fund set up by the late Elmer L. Esben shade, one of the found ers of the Lancaster County Farm and Home Foundation. The incom e from this trust fund will be offered annually in the form of educa tional scholarships through the Farm and Home Foundation. Scholarship applica tions are available from senior guidance counse lors and vocational agri culture and home eco nomics teachers in all school districts in Lan caster County.
