Again in 1992, Sander's Eggs of Lititz, Lancaster County, dominated the egg com petition at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg. Sander’s was elibigle to enter 14 of the 20 contest categories. Of the 14 entries, 13 captured first place awards. The exception placed second. Perhaps the most difficult test of egg quality comes in the broken-out class, where judges actually break open two dozen eggs and carefully scrutinize their interior quality. Sander's entries were judged tops in both white and brown categories. In addition to the two top awards in the broken out class, Sauder's captured all four top awards (one dozen white, one dozen brown, five dozen white, five dozen brown) in the producer carton and pack class. They also swept the four lop awards in the packers carton and pack class. In the commercial class, Sauder's entries captured three of the four top awards, finishing second in the one dozen white egg competition. Sauder's Eggs is a processor and marketer for eggs pro duced by independent farmer-businessmen. All Sauder's producers maintain rigid standards of sanitation and quality.
