in Denver saw 48 lots average
$4,405.
Sale consignments competed in
a sale bull show prior to die safe.
Judges for the event were Bob
Cook, Billings, Montana; Ben
Eggers, Mexico, Missouri; Miles
Groseth, North Platte, Nebraska;
Dale Grubbs. Hillsboro, Indiana;
and Bill Marsden, Highmore,
South Dakota.
Grand champion honors were
presented to Whitestone Tonto
0133 exhibited by Whitestone
Farm, Aldie, Virginia. The Sep
tember 1990 bun is a son of Leach
man Tonto. The grand winner sold

fifth annual Fellowship of Christ
ian Farmers outreach luncheon
will be held Saturday, February 29,
from 12:15 pm.-2:30 p.m. (11:45
am. sealing) at Friendly Farms
Restaurant on Route 140 south of
Westminster, Md.
This year’s featured speaker is
Jerry A. Carlson. Senior editor of
“Professional Farmers of Ameri
ca” and editor of “LandOwncr”
newsletter, Carlson holds a mas
ters degree in economics and jour
nalism from lowa State
University.
Previously a managing editor at
“Farm Journal,” Carlson
cofounded “Professional Fanners
of America” with Merrill Os ter in
1972, which offers a vast array of
news and market services to the
nation’s farmers.
Carlson, his wife Jill, and their
three children operate a 160-acre
farm, where they conduct scientif
ic field trials to develop profitable,
environmentally safe concepts. As
a result, Carlgon conducts a series
of ienewable farming seminars on
land stewardship.
Carlson is also the designer of
the Fellowship of Christian Far
mers emblem, the cross of the
wheat
This year’s special music will be
provided by Cyndi Garber, wife of
a farmer and mother of three. Her
husband Phil, a farmer in Mount
Joy, Pennsylvania, was Master
Fanner of the Year in 1991.
