SURGE • LOW COST OPERATION The Surge U-V Conditioner will treat 6,000 gallons of water for the cost of 1 kw-hr of electrlcial power. • NO CHEMICAL ADDITIVES Effective disinfection with chlorine requires 20 minutes for regular chlorination and a minimum of 5 minutes for super chlorination. High levels of chlorine may be corrosive, toxic, and impart undesirable taste to water. In addition, Ultraviolet eliminates the need for holding tanks, chemical additives and related monitoring devices • AUTOMATIC OPERATION There are no moving parts to wear out. No operator is required. No valves or gauges to set. Simple cleaning of the quartz sleeve and annual replacement of the long life U-V lamp are all that is required. • SIMPLE INSTALLATION Two plumbing connections and one electrical connection are all that is required. Inexpensively fits right into your present water system. • WHAT IS ULTRAVIOLET ENERGY? Ultraviolet energy is released by a low pressure mercury lamp which has a special type glass to allow passage of a light ray expressed as 253.7 nanometers. This particular light ray has the unique ability of killing micro-organisms that it comes in contact with. • HOW IT KILLS BACTERIA The ultraviolet rays strike the bacteria, virus, mold or algae and break through the outer membrane. This releases the DNA and destroys the organism. PENNSYLVANIA BRANDT’S FARM SUPPLY 601 E. High SI.
