Lancaster Farming Staff NORTH CORNWALL (Leba non Co.) The low price of lamb apparently put somewhat of a dam per on the number of entries in the 4-H breeding sheep competitions this year. Interest in sheep in the Lebanon area has been continually growing over the past 15 to 20 years, but the number of 4-H sheep enthusiasts who showed animals Tuesday at the Lebanon Area Fair was slightly down from previous years. However, according to judge Dave Harpster, of State College, a number of the animals shown could have stood a lot more competition. There were five breeds open for competition. This year, there was no overall champions of all breeds. Instead, the champions were decided within the respective breeds. In the Correidale breed, Benj Bow captured both the champion ewe and reserve champion ewe titles, while Darrell Martin, with the lone ram entry won the champ ion ram contest. In the Dorset breed, Jenny Wen ger’s ram also won champion ram, while Danent Grumbine’s year old ewe was named champion and Jamie Bomberger’s 2-year-old was reserve.
