DPI Fund Drive Sets Record GEORGETOWN, Del. The 1991 Fund Drive for Delmarva Poultry Industry, Inc. (DPI) set a Kcord with a total of $485,000 in cash and pledges. That exceeded itie $450,000 goal and is 11 per ccnt more than DPI raised last year. The announcement was made at the recent Delmarva poultry boos ter banquet by DPI Fund Drive Chairman Dr. Tom Holder. Holder told the banquet’s nearly 2,500 guests that despite the uncer tainties caused by the war in Kuwait and Iraq and the slowing of America’s economy, “once again, as our investors have done so many times, you have come through to keep DPI continuing its many programs to help our industry.” The DPI Fund Drive is the non profit trade association’s way of raising money for its extensive ser vices and programs. In addition to announcing the Fund Drive results, awards were presented to Delmarva’s outstand ing poultry and egg producers and to two persons whohave made sig nificant contributions to Delmar va’s poultry industry. Delmarva’s Distinguished Citi zen Award was presented to Dr. Keith E. Rinehart, vice president, technical services. Perdue Farms, Inc., Salisbury, Maryland. This award is given in recognition of the recipient’s contribution to DPI. the poultry industry, and the community. Rinehart has served on the DPI board of directors seven years and was DPI president in 1988. He has been active on several DPI com mittees.
