Sponsors No-Till Workshop CREAMERY (Montgomery Co.) — The Montgomery County Conservation District is geared up and ready to assist area crop pro ducers through the 1991 no-till program. The Montgomery County Con servation District is providing a hands-on workshop to be con ducted at the 4-H Center, Route 113, in Creamery on April 10, 1991, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The purpose of this session is to acquaint the area crop producers with the up-to-date no-till equip ment utilized by the county spon sored no-till program. Dealer representatives will be on hand to demonstrate field calibration and adjustment of the equipment as applicable to the various field conditions in the county. Tim Fritz of cooperative exten sion will be participating in the half-day session to field questions on weed control and genral agri cultural concerns. David Tindall of the USDA Soil Conservation Service will also be on hand to Ag Scholarships Provided By Grange THURMONT, Md. The Montgomery County Con servation District will have avail able two John Deere no-lill corn planters at 30” and 38” row spac ing, and one Vermeer no-till drill 7” spacing for the 1991 crop pro duction year. Any individual planning to par ticipate in the 1991 no-lill prog ram is encouraged to attend the training session. The cost of rent ing the no-till equipment is as follows: • Grain Drill (1) -10 feet wide - 7” row spacing for $lO/acre. • Complanters (2) - 4 row-30” spacing and 4 row-38” spacing each for $lO/acre. The program not only encour ages the use of the no-till system, but also provides the users with a hands-on experience with the lat est refinements on the modern equipment. There is no registration tec for the training session.
