Executive Board The Berks County Farm Women executive board met recently at the Ag Center with 25 members in attendance. President, Joan Loeb, opened the meeting. Devotions were given by Mary Bashore of Group #2. Roll call was answered “Did you buy your seeds for the gar den yet?” Janet Schlegel reported on the Agri- Business meetings she attended. Since March 20 is Ag Day, it was decided to collect food for the Reading Food Bank with each group doing this as an indivi dual project and bring ing all foods to the March Board meeting. The Farm Women will again participate in the Scenic River Festi val July 24 through 28. The Farm City ban quet will be held on November 7. Berks Heim bingo games are scheduled for April 4 at the main building and on Novem ber 14 at the Annex. The Berks Heim Vol unteer Dinner will be held on April 18. Youth poster contest awards were given to Tim Feeg of Group #5, Megan Kasner of Group #9, and Amy Fegley of Group #5. Groups 3,9, and 10 received certificates at the Slate Convention for new members received into their group during 1990. The Berks County Farm Women Conven tion will be held on Saturday, October 5, at Haag’s Hotel, Shartles ville. Barbara Kintzer is chairperson of the event. Berks County Farm Women will host the 1991 Spring Rally to be held on Thursday, May 23, at the Berkshire- Sheraton. Joyce Shott of Group #lO volunteered to be Publicity chairperson for the Farm Women with Mary Fizz of Group #4 representing Berks Heim. President Erma Bauer reviewed the by-laws of the farm women organization. A donation was made to an area resident hospitalized with leukemia. The next meeting will be at the Pleasantville Diner on February 19, with lunch at 11:30 a.m. Val entines will be exchanged and each member should wear some thing red.
